The medium-sized beefsteak tomato 'Ponderosa Purpurviolette' has a pink base and a slight purple tinge. The tomato fruit is slightly ribbed and boasts a very fresh, aromatic flavor. The juicy fruits ripen relatively early, weigh 100 - 150 g and are ideal for eating fresh, for salads, but also for canning. This variety 'Panderosa Purpurviolett' is definitely worth bringing out of the icy hibernation of the archive and growing again. It comes from the gene bank in Gatersleben, LYC 137.
